I have had a part in two fucking stupid charities and they both turned out to be for penis fuck causes.
Kittylover was actually beaten and needed the money to survive. Then he turned into a cunt and wanted to become a pro League of Legends player and focused on that instead of putting the steps in place to figure out what his life would be during and after his rehabilitation. Also the day after the charity stream he threatened to kill himself if someone who happened the be the most proactive organizer for the event didn't love him instantly. This actually happened. He wanted her to move across the world to take care of him and give up her life completely. That's 12K cool.
RTMelissa told us she came home from work one day and her house was completely emptied. Everything was gone and they even took her toothbrush. It would have taken a group of people and a lot of us feared for her safety. How could we know they wouldn't come and beat the shit out of her or rape her? It was really fortunate that she wasn't at home when they came by. Someone in the community right away sent a care package to Melissa with all the essentials she'd need to get by in the coming weeks, including an air mattress. Christ, I can feel already that this is going to be a long post.
Anyway, Melissa lied. She wasn't robbed. She told an online friend she was and it started to spread. Then she helped the lie grow. A bunch of people recommended a charity stream and she was reluctant at first. She made a paypal account and then went along with it. She started posting on twitter about her robbery and posted her paypal information. We all wanted to jump to help her. RTMelissa had been a positive member of the "Bro Team community" for months. There was no reason to suspect her. She wasn't a jerk, she was nice to people, and I had just decried Kittylover's shit post-charity stream actions two days before the RTMelissa incident went down. It seemed like a retardplay to now fake an incident to curry some public favour and internet money.
We started planning a charity stream. I still wholeheartedly believed Melissa and it would seem like a clear fuck you to death move to not do something to help her when I so easily could. A bunch of us got on Mumble and started planning specifics. One member of the community was actually friends with a lot of Rooster Teeth staff and Melissa claimed to have worked for them in the past, so he thought he'd ask them if they could help promote a potential charity stream. As soon as he started mentioning this, she started backtracking. It wasn't worth mentioning to them, she worked for them a long time ago, they wouldn't remember, it was just some community stuff she did for them, it was way too long for them to remember it's ok don't worry about it don't ask them. That's when my shit dropped. She's fucking lying about everything I felt like a jerk for having this gut reaction to her sudden hesitance to involve RT when she so clearly before broadcasted her involvement with them. She even had "I edit Rooster Teeth videos" on several of her profiles. The dude asked his RT friends anyway and hadn't heard her pleas not to. All of them had no idea who the fuck she was.
I for sure wanted no involvement at this point. I didn't know if Melissa's robbery had taken place or not, but I was suspicious enough to not want to put my shit on the line again. It turned out I'd be away for the weekend of the stream anyway. Still, I posted on twitter about it twice while other people organized it and after finding out it was a lie, I felt like a shit for even doing that much.
A bunch of other people noticed inconsistencies with RTMelissa's story. We are all trying to put together the truth as the countdown to the stream came nearer, so we could possibly spare any donators from giving money to a false cause. At the same time, I wanted to be extremely careful because I didn't want to just end a valid event based on paranoia alone. I didn't feel that we had found anything substantial enough to make an announcement over until days after the stream. Finally enough pieces came together that I just outright told her that I knew it was a lie. She denied it at first, then finally confessed.
RTMelissa said her mother came to her place while she was at work and took a bunch of her things, probably to sell them. She thought Melissa's place was haunted with demons and wanted Melissa to move in with her. She lied about a group of guys stealing all her shit, faked a police report, provided images of a door that was supposed to have been kicked in, made a video to promote her charity stream and asked for donations, among a bunch of other things. We started to realize that Melissa's essence is lying. I told Melissa that I'd keep this a secret. I didn't know how to react, really. I felt like everyone who donated deserved to know that they gave money under false pretenses. Melissa's life wasn't in danger. She had moved a lot of her belongings in her pictures to make it seems as if her place was clinically emptied by thieves. It was really just her insane mother trying to save her from El Toothbrush Diablo. A few days later, I summoned the community steam group to the group chat and told them everything that happened.
It appears Melissa bought a laptop and a Playstation 4 with the money we raised her, which was around two thousand dollars. She lied and said someone from the Bro Team community had a friend who sent her a computer. This didn't actually happen. She was telling people in the community that she was my "editor" and edited all my videos. I let her edit some footage and she turned in a rough cut after a month of me asking how it's coming along. That's it. She was telling people she was my employee and we were trying to find a way to get her to work "at my office". My office doesn't exist. I sure as fuck don't make enough to employ anyone else. She volunteered to edit and I said I might be able to pay her for her work eventually.
RTMelissa is compelled to lie. I don't know if it's an attention-seeking thing, or to grasp at some kind of relevance, but she fucking cannot stop lying to people. If you're still somehow dealing with her, she is probably lying to you about a ton of shit to win your favour for whatever reason.
Be fucking careful.
